M12 Arc Welding Accessory Interface Board (NEW!)

To better support standard and optional welding products now and in the future, Yaskawa has implemented changes to its YRC1000 welding products offered through the “Product Configurator”. The changes were made to address the following issues/challenges faced by internal and external Yaskawa customers:

  • Compact Size: The YRC1000 controller is already one of the smallest on the market, its accessories and cable connections needed to miniaturize too! Early versions of YRC1000 controller cabinets were often plagued with too few cable entry points for various combinations of accessories/options.
  • SimpleConnect Accessories: The follow accessories can be connected to the YRC controller without any internal cabinet wiring. Connectors on the side of the YRC1000 tophat allow easy plug-in connections of the following options:
    • AccuFast Laser Sensor(s)
    • ComArc/TouchSense-LV(s)
    • Wire Sensor(s)
    • Gas Flow Sensor(s)
    • Yaskawa Valve Bank
    • Tip-Change Boxes & Stations
    • External Enabling switch

This all allows for rapid integration within Yaskawa or for customers/integrators who decide they need any of the above options post-sale.

Connected Accessories: (photo above)

  • Valve Bank
  • R1 & R2 Gas Flow Sensors
  • R1 & R2 Tip-Change Boxes
  • R1 & R2 Accufast
  • R1 & R2 ComArc/TouchSense-LV
  • External Enable Switch#1
  • Blown fuse indicator: In the photo above, a green LED next to each cable connection indicates 24VDC to the accessory. If the power to that accessory is interrupted (fuse blows) the LED turns red.
  • Clearly labeled connections: Cable connection points are clearly labeled with device name and cable number.
  • Streamlined subassembly: Yaskawa will be streamlining its in-house manufacturing of tophat enclosures to allow faster production and shorter lead times.
  • Part and labor savings: By using the same parts and wiring harnesses on all cabinets in an assembly-line style production of tophat cabinets will yield higher volumes, more consistency, and less assembly on the manufacturing floor
  • External Safety Connections: New tophats provide customer & integrator connections for dual channel “Safety Gate”, “E-Stop”, and “Servo On Enable”. When no external safety options are utilized red jumper plugs are provided. This allows for easy integration by end users or easy connection with Yaskawa provided options (see above!)

  • Commonality: Many cable connections are transitioning from large custom cables to M12 standard cables which are smaller and lower-cost to replace
  • SimpleConnect Software: All YRC welding arms and systems are equipped with “SimpleConnect” software which allows easy activation (and temporary deactivation if needed) of the connectorized options listed above.
