Saving a CMOS (SmartPendant):

  • Updated

Obtaining a system backup from an existing system is often the best way to utilize a TED unit while keeping your existing system in production. Obtaining the system backup is detailed in the following steps and then loading the files into the TED until will be detailed separately in "Loading a system CMOS".

Often times systems have multiple stand-alone applications installed on them, be it UWI, SimpleConnect, MotoSight, PalletBuilder, or others. In cases like this where Moto+ applications and pendant applications are involved, a typical CMOS alone will not capture the pendant applications or Moto+ application. To obtain all the various applications, you want to take a "System File + CMOS" backup. This will obtain all the various robot and accessory applications and files and place them on the TED unit.

Enter "Management Mode":

Insert a USB thumbdrive into the SmartPendant and choose "Utility" --> “File Management”:

Choose "System Backup (CMOS.ect)" filter:

Place a checkmark in the “CMOS.BIN” and "SmartPendantSettings.zip” then press the “Copy Files From Controller” button to begin the transfer:

While the transfer is underway, the following notification will appear on the screen:

Once the data transfer is complete, the screen above will clear and return to the file list screen. At this point, the backup is complete and the thumbdrive and be removed.
